So, my birthday is next week (eek - I'm officially going to be "in my 30s") and I've decided that I want to buy myself some vegan graphic tees. I'm ready to advertise ;)b
What are your favorite brands or places to buy cute, fun, clever t-shirts? I've checked out Herbivore, cafepress and the main ones that come up when I googled "vegan t-shirts". Any other cool suggestions?
PETA has some cute ones too! I love the "Powered by Tofu" one! hve you looked at Pangea? They have a few and they only buy from ethicall traded/free labor countries!

Yay! I think I have five or so now..and I love them all! The first one I got is here:

I think it's still my favorite..
veganessentials.com has some also..
The other ones that I have were given to me, or I bought them on ebay..
but the majority of them are sustainable edition-American Apparel
;)b
Here are some cute ones, and severel are on sale too! ;)b http://www.ethicalplanet.com/clothing-teeshirts.html
I heart my "Wings are for flying not frying" hoodie from Herbivore!
just FYI, cafepress tends to have *very* thin tshirts. i think now they have a scale rating their fabric thickness, but when i got a tee from there last year, it was super cheap, not in a good way...you can pretty much see right thru it.
Oh, in terms of the fabric..the American Apparel ones that I have are flawless. They are organic cotton..SUPER soft..not thin, and the fit is great.
No matter where or what t-shirts you buy, I hope that you'll try to keep the message on them positive. I bought a "Beef: it's what's clogging your arteries" t-shirt and I'm very rarely brave enough the wear it in public. My DH who is an omnivore says it would upset too many people and he won't go out in public with me if I'm wearing it. I think if they get upset over the truth then so be it but I wimp out when faced with my husband's disapproval. My bad, I know.
I recently bought two vegan t-shirts from Cafe Press and they are kind of thin and cheap but c'est la vie. I got:

The Secret Society of Vegans has some nice products too

Though I haven't bought it, my current favorite is the one at Herbivore that says "Eat like you give a damn." I think that pretty much covers all of the angles. Frankly, I'm a little afraid to wear message t-shirts, because it's kind of an invitation to an argument. But I do sometimes wear a button that says "Tofu, the other white meat." People like that one.
Watch out for poor spelling and grammar on some cafepress t-shirts!
Happy birthday and welcome to your 30s! I'll be leaving them soon...
If you want to save some money, you can easily make your own....if you have a printer and a 50-50 t shirt! they dont last as long, but then you can just make another with a new message to keep things fresh.
Also, a lot of little print shop places now can make one for you of better quality than you can do at home.
I am trying to think of one to wear while I'm pregnant...
to advertise that my huge belly is vegan powered!
maybe, "my huge belly is vegan powered"??? ;)
ac, i really liked that shirt! i feel like i would need to know facts and resources about all of that information first because people would ask about it, but thats a good thing!

hehe, I love it! I don't think I've had any discussions arise from it (not that I wouldn't love that), but I've gotten lots of compliments. VD and TT, why wouldn't you want an argument?! Perfect opportunity! :D
i just remembered jewel, for my 21st birthday, i treated myself to my first vegan tee as well! i actually got herbivores "please dont eat birds" one. one time, while checking out at a grocery store, the cashier read the shirt out loud and then said, "but who in the world eats birds???" i said, "you probably do, do you eat chicken?" "yeah?" "turkey?" "yeah. but those arent birds!" is what she said. so silly.

:blankstare:
I want that shirt, too AC! Awesome. I love Dennis and Elizabeth wearing it! :)>>>
I would like to mod mine...and then I could pretend to look as hot as the trainer babe...yowza!...
note to self: must start lifting weights...
P.S. Happy early b-day Jewel! You look like 24 in your pic! I will be turning 30 too this year and can't wait. :D
Thank you guys - now I have lots to choose from - I may have to buy 1 or 2 and then make one of my own as well!
side note: I have to admit, I'm technically already in my thirties since I'll be turning 31, but I liked being able to say "I'm 30". It just doesn't sound nearly as cool to say "I'm 31" ;D

"ask me about my vegan belly"
or
"Vegan bun in the oven"
lol.
how do you print the tees? is it on that iron on transfer paper?
I've always like the ones that say, "Give peas a chance". So cute.

I can't speak for VD but I don't think it would be the kind of argument where I state my point of view and then they state their point of view and we try to counter each other's point of view. I think that these redneck a**holes around here would just scream at me and worse case scenario try to rip the t-shirt off me. We've got some mean SOBs around here!

hehe, I'm from Texas..so I know how it is. :o
i saw a vegan t-shirt this weekend that read, "Vegan's do it better." yes, as in possessive and not plural. ??? whatever you do, please don't buy that one - could perpetuate some bad grammar, and we all know how smart dem vegans be.
ps happy almost birthday! you're gonna be twenty-ten: hooray!
