SO HOW'D IT GO?

I needed a quick recipe for a potluck tomorrow and this fit the bill. Sampled some for supper as well. Very good. I used Yves Veggie Dogs. They come in a package of twelve, so I bought two, and three of the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. I bought the regular Crescent Rolls, but I noticed that there were also low fat and multigrain versions, so you could get a little bit healthier. If you want much healthier, make them with a homemade whole-grain pie crust.

Thanks so much Amanda.  Now I've got to go look up DATEM.  :)  (Now I hope I've spelled that right since my memory is nonexistent.)

Once again, I wish you all peace, love, understanding and harmony.

Um, I usually consider myself to be a good speller so I don't normally use spell check so I'm sorry, of course you must know I meant crescent* rolls.

I made this recipe this morning to take for an easy packed lunch for school. I used to pilsbury dough recommended in the recipe and Yves hot dogs. I took a bit of one fresh from the oven and I honestly was not a big fan. Not of the recipe, but of the hot dogs! I threw them in a bag in the fridge and took some chickpea salad for lunch instead.  :P

When I got home tonight I was ravenous and didn't have time to cook. I gave the piggies a second try (cold this time!) and they were actually really good. I can't stop eating them! lol They're great cold, but I didn't like them hot. I think the tofu dogs just had a really weird texture. Anyway, I highly suggest this recipe for a quick snack. My tofu dogs came in a package of 6 and the crescent rolls came in a package of 8, so I made four big piggies and two little piggies. Great, reminiscent, quick recipe for a childhood favorite!

PS: Isn't it funny how when they're in the package, they're tofu dogs... but once they're put in a biscuit they become tofu piggies! hehe  :D

I am DYING to make these, but I am not sure what brand of  " crescent roll" type dough to use? Do you know of a good Vegan one??  Thanks bunches!!   :)

PETA's accidental vegan says that the Pillsbury Crescent Roll are vegan and they are delicious.  My grocery stores store brand is also vegan (Cub Foods)
