Heli's happy headhunt post (is headhunting vegan?) ;D made me aware of so many good things this week.
--Two of my students were afraid they wouldn't be able to study what/where they wanted because of their entrance exam results. BOTH get to study here in town, and do what they wanted. One future doctor, one future architect. Both young women of talent.
--Another student aced her English exams so she will finish her degree before the fall term starts. Whee!!
--And I am seeing light at the end of the weight-loss tunnel. Even if he did take away my cheese, at least temporarily!
-I got to eat really yummy falafel today!! ;)b
i got asked to work tomorrow. 8 hours of overtime! yes!
I didn't have to go to English class today.
I don't live in Houston anymore!

Bonus points if you understand the poorly veiled references.
I got to work in Revelstoke National Park today on the top of the mountain in an area known for its beautiful alpine flowers. There was signs everywhere warning about grizzly bears and although we did see one from the truck on the way there we never encountered any where we were working. There were many tourists paying big money to walk the trails we were working on and I got paid for being there. The weather was just perfect and it was an absolutely beautiful day. And on top of it all I get to go back tomorrow! ;)b
I planted some mums today. I love mums.
I painted my kitchen a really great olive green, cleaned the hardwood floors, and get to spend the chilly evening curled up with a nice cup of tea and a cat or two :)

yes, the weather in CO is fabulously chilly! Its raining and very chilly at my house right now.
Yesterday I got a call from my supervisor from PT job thanking me for coming back this fall (long story, but I was treated very unfairly last spring by her predecessor) and to tell me how excited everyone is about my classes. One family was still considering whether or not to sign up, but when they heard that I am the music teacher, that finalized their decision to enroll. :)
Got this in an email from my boss from FT job:
"Thanks again for all you do. We are SO LUCKY to have you. You are doing an amazing job and it is REALLY APPRECIATED!!!"
Had a great dinner with greenT and her fiance last night. Mmmmm, vegan pizza and vegwebbers!
It's Friday!
Am dying to share some good news with you all but have been sworn to secrecy for now...need a biting lip emoticon ???
ps-printerguy, Revelstoke is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. You are very lucky :)
From earlier this week but:
1. Monday was the first good pot-of-soup day. I made a pot of split pea soup that just warmed me up so nicely and made me HAPPY it was fall. Next up: being able to make vegan cupcakes!
2. Tuesday was the most blissfully beautiful day in the world. Not a cloud in the sky, lower 60s temparature. I got to pull out my favorite work outfit (my brown cord blazer over jeans and a t-shrt, and cute shoes) . After running errands I tried a new place for lunch that had a gigantic vegan wrap and salad. The whole day made me so happy I found this city :)
3. Yesterday one of my mentors told me that if I kept doing what I was doing I'd be a shooin for tenure. (only five more years... ha!)
It's the little things in life. I too am sitting on some good news, and will update this thread once I get the okay. (So, we all have to keep this thread going)
I'm going to The Green Door (awesome vegan restaurant in Ottawa) tonight!
It's raining, which is not so good news, but I got to wear my fun rainboots and use my Lilo and Stitch umbrella :)
I don't live in Houston anymore!
I feel you on that one! I used to live in Galveston.
Good news: I'm still alive and breathing.
I made cupcakes last night; lemon & margarita. Plus I am ordering Thai food for lunch. mmmmmmm
My happiness is all about food. haha
It's Falafel Friday.

Any thing to do with a baby? (C'mon, guys, let's see if we can winkle it out of her!!) ;D
(Query: Why do people who are preggy like to keep it a secret? I mean, eventually everybody's gonna know. A lot sooner than most new mummies think.)
my mommys coming to visit me and see my new place today, and shes bringing a bunch of old furniture that she was storing for me. im excited to have her and my old kitchen table, chairs and kitchenaid mixer en route to me!
Today is our 4 year anniversary. Woohoo!!
