Reasons to smile
I guess not everyone needs to find a reason, but... What made you smile and/or laugh today?
My first LOL of the day was caused by this LOLdog.
I went to the uniform laundry room at work yesterday, to ask if I could try on a size smaller in my trousers. And they fit! The laundry lady asked me if I needed a new shirt, too, so I tried the next size down in that, too. And it fit! Wow. My pants had been slipping down my hips a little for weeks, but last week they got ridiculously slippy. So happy to have confirmation that my body's changing shape/size a little. :iloveyou:
Humming along to the occasional good song at work... it's amazing how much it can lift my mood. ;)b
Overhearing customers' reactions when they can't decide whether flowers are real or not. It's hilarious either way - when they think fake are real, or real are fake. ;D
Waking up without a hangover.
--one of my students who is doing a grad programme got A's on all 4 term papers. And it's a tough department in a tough school.
--I got a thank-you card from the lady I made the quilt I have mentioned. Thank-you cards are not traditional here so I was really touched. It arrived on a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day, and cheered me up.
--the lady who saved my life arrives on Sunday for a 2-day visit.
wow, what a bargain! how did you manage that? at first i thought in the middle of that you said you also bought "two ladies". i guess two ladies to put all of that kitchen stuff to good use? ;)

I was just browsing 'trademe' to look for ideas of kitchen things I need to buy/acquire and noticed an auction closing in a few minutes for the aforementioned pile of stuff. Looked like a good deal to me, and no one else was bidding so I got it super cheap. Made me happy : ) I'm not very proficient at the whole auction/bidding thing generally, but this is the second super good deal I've scooped - I picked up a dress to wear to a wedding later in the year for $6.50 a few months ago : )

I got the job I applied for at my school's gender resource centre!!!! :D I'm so so excited and relieved...no more having to wake up before 6am to go to work! Thank you, universe...thank you!!!

my bf is playing punch out and i am playing eye of the tiger for him.... lol.
I spent 2 great days with the lady who saved my life and I think she and her 3 friends had a good time.
I finally got to watch Dr M all the way through. Not in one sitting, but still. I like movies that give one furiously to think. It's not scary, it's not suspense, it's not sci-fi, it's...something else. Life, love, sex, death...it's all there.

Having air con in the house makes me smile. We've only had it for 2 yrs and it makes all the difference in the world. Before I would be lying in bed and suddenly think..."You know, you're not going to be able to sleep unless you change these sheets..." and then of course I'd have to get up and change them. Grrrr. (I used to call that train of though "my evil twin" because it always waited till I got comfy to think it.)
I'm blonde so i dont have every little kid announcing that i have green hair or telling me when i go places AND all of my clothes look good, i dont have any of that them not matching the green hair thing going on! Woooo! (but i do miss colorful hair.. haha)
There hasn't been a decent sunrise once on the way to work this week.
Don't get me wrong, I loooove sunrises - but that means sunrise is getting earlier, and so days are getting longer... and so it must be getting closer to summer!!!! wooooooo!!!!

My fruit shop is selling greengage plums. Yumbles.
My step-brother (who has been in ICU for 13 days) was able to make it through the night with an oxygen level of 50% on his respirator (vs. the 100% it was at for days)! If he continues to make improvements, he will be able to have the surgery to fuse his spine back together soon!!! ;)b
