Reasons to smile
I guess not everyone needs to find a reason, but... What made you smile and/or laugh today?
My first LOL of the day was caused by this LOLdog.
I went to the uniform laundry room at work yesterday, to ask if I could try on a size smaller in my trousers. And they fit! The laundry lady asked me if I needed a new shirt, too, so I tried the next size down in that, too. And it fit! Wow. My pants had been slipping down my hips a little for weeks, but last week they got ridiculously slippy. So happy to have confirmation that my body's changing shape/size a little. :iloveyou:
Humming along to the occasional good song at work... it's amazing how much it can lift my mood. ;)b
Overhearing customers' reactions when they can't decide whether flowers are real or not. It's hilarious either way - when they think fake are real, or real are fake. ;D
my sister made me smile rediculous amounts today!
I put a piece of fresh, chilled melon in Sweetheart's cage and he said, loud and clear, "Thank you!"
Getting the results from a state exam I took a while back, and finding that I got a 100! :)
Sweet! A promotional exam? What kind of exams does the State give?
Almost every state job in NY you have to sit an exam for. The one I took is called the "Professional Careers Test" and is for a wide range of jobs that leads to a salary grade (after a 2 year traineeship) of almost twice what I make currently.
For more info, go here: http://www.cs.state.ny.us/jobseeker/public/
Sweet! I had an "exam" for my job, but it was more of a survey - do I know a lot, some, or a little about differet topics. I wasn't asked to prove it or anything by demonstrating knowledge, it was more of a general self assessment. Come to think of it, my "exam" made me happy, too.
Reason to Smile:
In 2006, I became vegan as of a phone call from my doctor to tell me that my cholesterol level was 284 mg/dL. I got some of my test results back from Wednesday and my cholesterol is now 181 mg/dL.
Damn my crap diet!
HDL (good cholestrol): 49 mg/dL (50-60 or higher is the goal)
LDL (bad cholesterol): 118 mg/dL (less than 100 is the goal)
HH! That's great about your cholesterol!
I just met with a realtor to look at a house. I really really really liked it. :)
How fast are homes moving in your area? Do you have a reasonable shot at it? What do you like about it?
chester is eating at his feeder!
(chester is the name i've given to the birdy that visits my bird feeder several times a day. the kitties love him. i got the feeder for them since they like watching birdies fly past the window!)

Umm...not too fast. I think this one's been on the market for a little while. I forgot to ask, but I'm curious. I think I have a good shot. If I offer, I'll go a bit lower (depending on what my realtor says), but I'm willing to pay what they're asking. I like the location, the yard, hardwood floors, and the gas stove (most are electric down here). The bright red bathroom is just a bonus. haha. My dad is going to come down and we're going to look at it again next week.

why is you husband in a cage? ::)

because he's a good boy and does as he was trained!

This made me smile.
*bows* thank you *bows*
glad we could make you smile with our comedy hour!
You guys crack me up! :-D
Sweetheart is feathered. The bald guy I live with in symbiosis is called Chimpo, Lovey, and a thousand other animal-related nicknames. And by his surname if I really need to get his attention stat. (Because he worked in an office where all the guys were named some version of Jose: Jose Manuel, Jose Enrique, Jose Luis...)
wow. jose is common here and i'm not even in spain!
I think I have gotten rid of all the mealy bugs, although I pray I didn't just kill one of my favourite cacti.
my sister is flying in today! i haven't seen raven in two years. part b makes me frown because her daddy isn't going to let her hang out with me so i'll only get to see her for a few minutes... but part a is ultra exciting and makes me quite happy!
congrats rd! :D
My reason to smile these days is that the 'potential' i was talking about earlier was met, on Friday! and there is possibly more to come. ^-^ (I love that trashy face btw). I am rather smitten...still reeling...
