Ok so maybe I'm just a weirdo, but there's silly little things that really bug me for no apparent reason - what about the rest of you? Is there any little thing that really annoys you, but probably shouldn't that much?
Ok I'll start:
I hate it when peolpe jiggle their legs up and down when they're sitting down. Some people will do this continually and I HATE IT. There's no logic to my annoyance but it really bugs me.
It also bugs me when women put their make up on on public transport - just wake up earlier if you want to wear it - and don't give people dirty looks when they stare at you.
I report all of the spam that I see and that can be about +10 a day sometimes. Sometimes I end up getting too tired to report it all.
WRGMG: My cousin who is younger than me and has never been outside the Midwest except for 2 trips to Cambodia to see/marry/bring home a mail order bride.
Suddenly over the past couple years he has morphed into a redneck behind my back.
And now whenever I email him I get snide digs about the "Socialist" healthcare system.
About which he knows nothing.
He can't distinguish between socialised medicine and Socialism as in Communism as in...oh grow up.
Yabbit, we're all having that problem with our families here. They're being infected with the ignorant Tea Party disease.
What I can't figure out is why he married a "furriner." Maybe it's not a happy marriage, maybe that's part of his problem.
But I mean hey, his father is like 80 and a serious racist and even he is more supportive than this son of his.

I remember we used to get emails back about spam that we reported when it was deleted. That stopped a while ago though.
Reasons:
People who can't even attempt to put sunscreen on their tattoos when they are going to be outside in the Florida sun all day and know they will get burnt. Warped tour was here today and I have seen multiple pictures of people with tattoos that are horribly sunburned and it just pisses me off that they can't respect their tattoos or care about them because they think they look stupid putting on sunscreen (Last time I went I had sunscreen and offered it to people and they just gave me really stupid looks and refused).
Also, my framing manager sucks at managing the frame shop. Which is her job. I spent 4 hours today trying to fix things she messed up that she wouldn't let me touch that were due WEEKS ago and she decided to finally let me try to touch something and that she wasn't too proud to ask for help after it was already 3 weeks overdue, and without leaving me any notes on anything so I had no idea what was going on. Also she gives me stupid jobs that aren't my job to do, I don't mind doing things like that now and then, but these are jobs for people with full time positions and not me, and half of them I can't even do because I can't log on to certain things due to my part time position and lack of clearance to do things. Then she gets pissed off when her giant list of demands are not completed. I got one thing done in my 7 hours of work today (the standard is 35 minutes per framing order) and I could've actually gotten us caught up today if she wasn't too proud to ask another manager or some one else for help with things earlier. So now the shop is days behind and I barely work in framing anymore and people today kept coming in and yelling at me for their things not being ready and its horrid when I have nothing to do with it. Aghhhhhhhhhhhh.
Oh, Sarah, you'd hate me. I'm such a failure at protecting my tattoos....I'm not anti sunblock or anything, I just never think about it....which is horrible, I know. And my tats are definitely faded....perhaps you calling me out will make me remember next time I'm sunning!

The job or the people? And if the people, it is because of unrealistic expectations? Dude, you need to do meetup.com and expand your radius. Or, how long do you have to be in Oregon before you get permanent resident status (i.e., in-state tuition)? Take a class at a community college. It'll give you something beyond work drudgery and suck-ass roommates to think about.
I try to avoid this thread because I'm not a whiner but I do whine, bitch, and moan from time to time.

Oh wow, Amy!! That totally..wow. I don't really have that problem. I actually keep to myself at work and if I do branch-out, I talk only to my boss. Lately, I've been taking walks on my lunch so I can get away from the building as much as possible.
What bothers me? I'm in another one of those scripted/robototic/cubicle jobs. Usually, a few times a day, there's a guy or gal who thinks it's fun to yell and cuss at you for (at least) 5 minutes straight. One guy was sooooo bad on Friday, I had to leave my desk afterwords.
I just think to myself, what am I doing with myself and with my life? I get paid a small ransom to sit at my desk and say the same thing to hundreds of hundreds of customers and get shit upon. I could go on about this but.....
I'm sorry you've got awful shit happening around you, Amy. We gotta keep focused and determined to keep going. With the current economy, it's nice to have a job, yes. But with the current economy, some (not all) people may lose hope. If we stay focused and determined, we will survive. Focus, determination, and creativity are needed in this environment. I hope it gets better for you.

i work in a cubicle too (a 4 seater cube) and i want to kill the people sitting on one side of it: the crazy girl and rude guy are on one side, me and my boss (who i love) on the other... i just feel suffocated in that place... i want out!

Oh no! Sorry, I didn't mean my coworkers cussing me out. I mean people on the phone. And I totally know what you mean about the suffocation! We're not meant for this. Some people love it and worship those types of jobs. We'll find our paths lined with positivity.

Here, the cold-caller has to keep talking to the person for a specified amount of time or the call doesn't count and they don't get paid. Does that happen there?

Well, luckily it's not cold-calling. They know we're calling because they request info online about our services. BUT! I do have to sit there and take the abuse. I am required to give my script and give them 3 warnings before I hang up. When a customer is on a roll, they yell and cuss on and on without taking a breath. Sometimes you don't know if it's the customer so if you don't confirm their identity before they hang up, you may get the abuse the next day when you call them again. :)
